about

This EP was an experiment by Jared to see if its genre style was the best direction for Kingrow to go from this point onward. Although that didn't end up happening, it did inspire him to revive his old solo music project, n-Somnia, which does reflect this particular style.

The cover art is a manipulated screenshot of Jared's preferred wave-editing software (at the time), Cool Edit Pro, with the waveform of what appears to be the ending sequence of the track, "Wavelink". This wave file in question just happened to share the same filename as the EP.

"Flee to the Wilderness" and "Deluge" were used to promote this EP. The first is a reference to a passage in the Bible regarding the end times, while the latter was named after a particular figure in the Transformers toyline.

"Wavelink" is Kingrow's most experimental, and officially the longest track they've released (since "Lint" on the "7-Sided Parallel" album). It contains various recordings found over the Internet, including historic quotes and sound effects.

"The Focus" was named after a level in the id Software shooter game, "Doom II - Hell on Earth".

Kingrow were a duo based in Christchurch, NZ, specialising in electronic rock instrumentals, although they have flirted with using vocals in some of their earlier material. Formed in 2004, the duo composed various instrumentals until finally unleashing their first release in 2007.

The project sadly disbanded in early 2011, but managed to release a few albums afterwards until 2012.
